About Koko

I am the unplanned child to a woman so strong. A sister to brothers. A dreamer. A writer. A mother. A lover. Ninja in the dark. Star shaped in a very square world. Teacher to eager ears.  My learning desire is quenchless.  On the outside looking in.  Not interested in the fake. Wizard when I can find my wand. Fascinated by fireflies. Fighter of underdogs. Small, but mighty. Believer in superheroes. Ecstatic to be different. Provider of nourishing meals, sassy when needed, quirky at best. Epic concoction maker. Boredom doesn’t exist.

I am super excited to be going on-line with atkokosplace.  How blogging came to be….My tech-y/social media savvy kids kept on telling me with each finished project I did, every bottle of lotion I created, people I’ve helped, “Mom, you need to blog about that…” I had no clue what blogging was! Through their encouragement and help and belief in my many works… Thank you kids.  I hope I make you proud.

I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands.  I can remember as a little girl making a car that was just my size out of a cardboard box.  I even outfitted it with a rear view mirror and personalized license plate!  I made all the furniture for my Barbies and when GI Joe’s came into the picture I sewed countless tiny tents and sleeping bags.  The first time I started working with wood was in the fifth grade.  I made Japanese sandals out of scrap lumber.  As a child I was given gifts that were thinking gifts, like building things such as a miniature house or boat that I could sail in the gutter on a rainy day. Countless hours of crocheting and macrame and making bracelets kept me happily entertained. In my science kits I remember making a working volcano among other fun experiments. I loved every minute of creating and concocting. Fascinated and hooked to this day I am!

At Kokos Place is a lifestyle blog where I share what’s going on in and around my life! Here is where I show you how I have re-purposed – up-cycled items, build new things, sew and glue…well you get the idea! Reviews on stuff can be found here too! Blogging my experiences is another extension of how I show love and appreciation for the people around me. The same goes for every meal I make and every tincture I come up with, love always goes into the mix. And I hope to share them with you! There will be all kinds of “life stuffs” tossed in as well, after all, this blog is a little about me; what I like, what moves me, what makes me think, what makes me sigh and what makes me wonder. I imagine this blog will continue to evolve as life evolves…

Until then, I’d love to have you follow along on my journey.

❀ Please like, follow and share. I do appreciate your support! All the best, Koko❀

    • Thank you for the compliment. I had a nice laugh out loud 😀 I am thinking if I add a “travel” tab, it would force me to travel and write about it! One can dream; we shall see. 😉 enjoy your day!

      • Now I’m the late one! Life has been busy but enjoyable. Haven’t even had time to blog! How are you doing?

      • I’m doing well. This summer has had me on my toes. Mowing about every 2-3 days. Garden is not liking the weather but still producing something. I’ve been doing and have yet to do some big projects such as refinishing kitchen cabinets and sanding wood floors! There’s more, but I don’t want to bore you! Hahaha.

      • We had a beautiful summer in Vancouver. But the rain started a couple days ago. Blah…… can we fast forward to next spring? 😦

    • Thank you, thank you! I love meeting new people from all over the world and learning. Blogging has certainly made this world smaller. I am sure there will be a lot of knowledge for me to gain from your blog. Hope your day is beautifully awesome! ❀ ✿ ❁ ✾

  1. What a beautiful blog you have here! I love your story today on creative pet beds. My cat claims a new spot every few weeks, rejecting the old. Currently he’s on the couch! Thank you for your follow on Forest Garden today ; -) Best wishes, WG

  2. Hi there! Fantastic blog–keep up the wonderful work!! Thank you for stopping by our happy little homestead over at standupongrace.com You are welcome anytime and always. Swing by for a visit again!
    Blessings~ Wendy

    • You are a doll! The world needs more amazing people like you. Not because of the compliment, but because you are thoughtful and kind enough to take time out of your day to leave a comment. This kind of sweetness makes the world go round. And I truly thank you for the follow. ❀

  3. Hi

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and liking one of my recent posts. I stopped by earlier to have a nosy but didn’t have time to leave a comment but I was reminded by a DIY project of taking two tyres and conventing them into outdoor seating that I need to come and say thank you.

    • I am honored to have you here! If I can help you out with any DIY perils…just let me know 😉 Thank you for being here and kindly commenting. I really appreciate it! Happy spring to you!❀❀❀

  4. Day dreaming fun purposes are the best purposes. 😉

Thank you for visiting Travel Bugg and leaving such a kind comment. 🙂

  5. Thank you for liking my post. I just started my blog and am grateful for any likes and comments as they boost my confidence and motivation to continue with what I am doing.

  6. Thank you for your visit to my blog. I loved reading this page and am impressed, entertained and inspired by your descriptive word choices. I need such disclaimers on my blog as well! And I too wish you could have chickens. I am quite fond of mine, which is why I keep on trying to beat nature’s advances against my flock. I love your cats and cat tree too. It sure beats the store-bought ones. My cats love the high perch but they won’t get inside because the space is too small. Might have to follow your plans and make my own. 🙂

    • It was quite fun to write it! Not sure if the disclaimers are needed, but one never knows! If we all had more kindness and compassion I bet it wouldn’t be necessary. One would think I should be able to have chickens since I’m on over two acres! But sadly this isn’t so. Yes build one to suit your kitties needs. Mine love to hide in small spaces. If there’s a bag near by they are in it. If I get a box package they are clamoring to open it to get inside! They all have quite the personalities. It’s such a gorgeous day outside. I just bathed all five of my dogs. I hope it’s beautiful where ever you are and you are getting to enjoy the sunshine! Thank you so much for stopping by and taking your valuable time to comment. Means a lot! Best, Koko

  7. Hello, lovely to meet you! You seem way too young to have tech-proficient children. My own children think their mother is crazy (a good thing) and I think they follow my blog. I love organic, and beauty and health. Peace to you, lady!

    • You can be my new best friend. Hahaha! My kids are in their twenties. Both have graduated college and eagerly working at their careers. Mine probably think I’m crazy too! 😉 I’m going to pop on over to your blog. You sound like my kinda girl! Best wishes! ❀

    • Of course! I’m just starting to go through your blog. This sure makes the world smaller. I hope you find something here that piques your interest! Hope your day’s been great! 🙂

    • I’d love to go to Belgium. I enjoyed your about me. I can see we’d be fast friends! You are awesome. I saw Linkin Park! They were amazing! I’m going to see the Rolling Stones on Wednesday just because they are an iconic band! Take care Sophie. Hope to see you again. 🙂

  8. Hi there! I just wanted to say that you have an incredible blog, and that I find your content insightful, refreshing, and apt!

    • You are so thoughtful to take the time to say so! You’ve put a big smile on my face! Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope to see you again. Have a wonderful Sunday! 🙂
