How To Store Purses and Bags

If you’re like me, you have more than one purse or bag. After all, each has its purpose, so a few are necessary! Now, since you can’t use them all at the same time, you toss them in your closet or have them piled high on a table somewhere. Sound familiar? Some time later….you reach for a purse or bag you haven’t used in a long time, only to find their shape has gone away! I’ve got just the solution.

Note:  This is NOT JUST FOR WOMEN…..MEN THIS IS FOR YOU TOO! Laptop bags, satchels, cross over body bags, purses…hey I’m not judging. Just saying I’m not excluding you! 😉

Purses and bags piled up in the closet was me. Moving several times has taught me to be more organized… and well my motto is… “An organized home is a happy home.” One day I was organizing my closet. I had a bunch of scarves in paper sacks, crushing one on top of the other, also taking up valuable space. It hit me…why not put them together?!

All you need are scarves. The fluffier the better. You can use old t-shirts, baby blankets, a few of your 180 pairs of socks! Anything soft will work.

Nice and stuffed! Integritiy of bag is in place! Great way to store winter scarves. Win-win! I love that. :)

I am going to admit these are just a few of the purses/bags I have. I may or may not have 10 or 15! I do use them all, and I love them all, and each has a special memory attached, as all bags were gifts to me from my family over the years.

I hope this tip will help you out which in turn will help all the sadly misshapen purses and bags all over the world to stay in their original form! 😉

Smile friends for life’s too short to waste a second of it!

Hugs and more hugs, Koko❀ ……………… Oh and this is how I store them ………..

Displaying them this way makes it easy for me to find what I need as well as out in the open makes me remember what I have!

See that cute puppy? It’s a purse! Hahaha. I told you all my bags were gifts! This one is from my son. According to him, “You had to have this Mom!” (Green “Ash” sneaker wedges from my daughter. “Mom, everyone needs a”cool” pair of sneaker wedges!”) And I totally agree! 🙂

The end… If you want to see what I’m up to, you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram or both! I don’t always post all the things I build, create, do, but a lot of it makes it onto one or both of those!

I appreciate it from the bottom to the top of my heart that you follow me!

Peace, Koko❀    (This time it’s for real… byeeeeeeeee!)

  1. I think I just may round up my various “man bags” and stuff them back into shape!

Thank you, Koko, for the cool idea!!!

    Peace backatcha!

  2. You are so organized Koko! And so creative! I have a feeling I’ve said this before…but I’m so impressed by all you crafty and useful ideas! I don’t have many purses, definitely less than 10, but many of the nicer ones are out of shape (: so now I’ll need to apply your advice 🙂 Have a wonderful rest of the week!

    • Tiny, it’s always a joy to have you stop by. I always appreciate your words. They make my day instantly better! I hope the rest of your week is wonderful too. The whole family is out of town for a few days, so it will be just me and the furry four legged critters. Hopefully some R and R. Peace be with you Tiny! 🙂

  3. Another great idea from an amazing person. This article was written with wonderful humor as well. Hope life has been less stressful and more fun. I have carried a bag for over 20 years. Lifting weights has helped minimize the comments. I refuse to carry all the “stuff” in my pants pockets. If I attempted this, I would look like many of the kids that walk with their pants below their butts from the weight. Great article once again!

Just a quick note: My mother just passed and I am helping my father through the process. My writings and comments will be spotty until October. I didn’t want you to think I was avoiding your wonderful blog site.

    • I smiled picturing you with sagging pants!!! Life has become more stressful since my last post. Something is testing me and I want/need to believe I’m a good person. It’s been difficult but that is life… Goes up and down and it’s our support system than can help tip the scales into happiness or depression. I am so thankful for meeting people like you and find blogging and reading wonderful blogs helps to take my mind off of things. I stay busy as you know, still, there are times when I’m not busy enough so I will read a blog or three! I am deeply sorry to hear about your mother. I know it’s not easy. I lost a parent when I was a teen. And for lack of better words; it sucks! With what you are going through, to still make the time to read my silly words warms my heart. Take care of yourself and your father. A blogger out in cyber space will be sending you good thoughts. Koko:)

      • I was telling a fellow blogger the evening was so beautiful, I lit a fire and did yoga on the deck while watching the flames. Grasping at that happiness and health! Thank you for helping words.

  4. I really need to start doing this! This post really hits home for me because my boyfriend is ALWAYS complaing that my scarves and bags are taking over our small closet!

    • Then this will be a happy pairing! It literally takes a few minutes (depending on how many purses you have! Hahaha) for a big difference in the look of a space. And a good way to see what purses and bags you don’t need anymore. Out they go for more room! 😉 It’ awesome having you take time to read and comment! I really appreciate it! 🙂

    • Awe, you’re sweet! The weather here is positively perfect! I just got in from mowing. Now ready for a walk. I can’t get enough of the outdoors! I hope you have a great day too! Take care, Koko 🙂

      • I love mowing. I am the resident lawn mower and yes I do it for exercise too. I have a riding mower and a push one. I use the push mower and run as I mow. Great cardio and I found from doing it my legs are looking better than when I was in my twenties! And since I have over 2 acres I do have to succumb to a riding mower. I’m happy to know another mower! Let’s start a club! Hahahaha. Walk was wonderful. Now dining on some potato chowder with my awesome daughter. 🙂 It’s been so nice chatting with you! ❀

      • Two acres? Wow! Now, that’s a big lawn and a great workout using a push mower! Not many women mow their lawn. They leave it for their other half to do it. Not me, if our lawn needs to be mowed, consider it done! 😀
I’m glad you had a nice walk. Have a great night. Nice chatting with you as well. 🙂

    • Thrilled you thinks so! I figured it takes care of storing accessories or things I don’t use daily as well as keep my purses and bags in shape! I appreciate you coming by and kindly commenting. Have a great day! 🙂

    • I got it at Target about ten years ago. But I have seen something like it in places like World Market. The shelves fold up too. It sure helps keep things organized. And now I have better access to my scarves too. You can stuff your purses with anything. Even sweaters you aren’t wearing right now. Happy you stopped by! Happy Fall! Koko:)

    • And your comment made me smile. Gosh I love this blogging world. So much fun! I have to be organized in my household. I have too much going on and being organized helps a lot! Thank you for stopping by. Means a great deal to me. I hope you find something everyday that makes you smile! Take care! Koko:)

    • Hi Charlotte. I’m doing some change ups too with my scarves. Switching out some lighter ones for my thicker scarves. It sure helps me stay organized! I need to pop over to your blog to see what you’ve been up to! I’ve been sanding and refinishing hardwood floors and wow… Cleaning up the dust is harder than sanding the floors themselves! So it’s getting cooler there? It is here. I feel Autumn. Chilly today. Rained most of the day. Hope you have a warm scarf! Hugs to you! Koko:)

    • You should be. It was really well written. I should have commented on that earlier. I’m fostering a dog and we were going for a walk and it was much easier to hit like than stop to type a comment. With that said. It was worth a comment! Have a lovely day. Koko❀

    • It helps to find things. I get ready ten times faster! Hahaha. I need that in my busy life! Happy you stopped by. Thank you kindly for taking the time to comment! Have a great day!

  5. My handbags are on the floor of my closet and, you’re right, they need to be organized. You have a good idea here that I might establish also. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

    • I tell ya it was a game changer for me. I find my scarves, my bags look nice and I gained a closet floor! Thanks Jo for commenting. Happy to see you here. Enjoy your day! 🙂

    • Awesome! Hahaha! I find when I go into my closet I can’t help but smile a little. It looks like a mini store in there with the purses and bags displayed. 😉 I get ready so much faster with things more organized in the closet! I have a shelf in my room that have some items “displayed”. It’s just fun! Thanks for stopping my Vicky! Have an amazing day! Koko❀

  6. What brilliant ideas, Koko. I never would’ve thought of stuffing my bags, and yet, when I bought them, they had stuffing inside.

I have some reorganizing to do. Thanks for the helpful tips. And I definitely need to get a stand like yours.

    Have a lovely day!

  7. Great tips and I love your line…. “Smile friends for life’s too short to waste a second of it!” … So true, especially in the stressful times we live in today! Thank you for making me smile! 🙂

    • Awe and your comment made me smile. Thank you for that. Daily I try and find the happy. Life goes up and down and hopefully the up outweighs the downs! Glad you enjoyed the tip. Hope the rest of your week is spectacular! 🙂

    • Hahaha. I’ve had to be disciplined with my organization. I have so much going on in my day that having things in heir place helps me be efficient. Believe me it took years! Baby steps! Thanks for dropping by. Happy fall! 🙂

  8. This is pure genius! I know what I’m doing this weekend. And my 5 billions scarves will finally have a home in the off season. Thank you!

    • You are most welcome! It really keeps things organized. I tell you every little tip helps make my day go easier. Organization is the key! I still work on being better at it. And from the changes I have done…it really helps. Hope to see you again soon! Have a great evening. 🙂
